1. "Melanie's Bums 'n' Tums".
An exercise group . . . .suitable for ALL levels. . . that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at Barlestone Old School Hall, Church Road from 7.30p.m. until 8.15p.m. It is run by Melanie Tee and the fees are £3 per session. Contact Melanie at 01455 290976

3. Gentle Yoga
  
This group meets at the Old School Hall, Church Road, every Tuesday throughout the year from 2p.m. until 3.30p.m.
 The class is run by Joan Wilson, who has been teaching Yoga for over 20 years. It is based on the Hatha Yoga principle, which concentrates on stretching the body gently without any compulsion to do better than your neighbour. . . so you can forget any visions you might have of sitting for hours, chanting, with your legs wrapped around the back of your neck. . . .that just does not haoppen here !!!!! There is no pressure at the classes and everyone works in their own way, with their own targets, although Joan is quite happy to help and guide each person with individual advice. 
People who have attended the classes have commented that they have slept better, their breathing has improved, they feel more supple, less stressed, are able to concentrate better and have a thoroughly enjoyable time in good company.
There is no need to book. . . no joining fee. . . . just turn up and enjoy yourself. .. . the class costs £4.50 per session.
By the way, this is the group that, in the past, has met at the Village Hall, then the Methodist Church Hall and has now moved venue to the Old School Hall.
 


4. North West Leicestershire Council also run an "Active Together" Programme to promote better overall health by exercise. There are various local organised walks and also other activities.
