Barlestone is an attractive, medium sized village about 11 miles from Leicester near the pretty market town of Market Bosworth in the West of the County and there are just over 2000 inhabitants. Although the Royal Mail have given us a "CV" Postcode and "given" us to Nuneaton as our Postal Town, we are, in fact, well inside Leicestershire.

We, together with the adjoining village of Osbaston, are well supplied with all kinds of shops, facilities and services . . . many of which you will find detailed as you navigate this site. We have a Doctor's Surgery and a Dentist's Practice, . . .a Church, a very active Elohim Church Group, two Chapels, and three Pubs, one of which is a Restaurant. There is a Post Office, a Hairdresser, Co-op and Best-buy Stores, a Building Society, Chinese Takeaway, Fish and Chip Shop, and an Indian Restaurant. We have deliveries of Newspapers, Milk, Fish, Meat and Tea, Coffee and Biscuits. . .and even though there are Libraries nearby at Market Bosworth and Desford, we have regular visits from a Mobile Library.

We also have a monthly magazine called The Village Pump which is produced by a band of volunteers from within the village, contains interesting articles and letters regarding local and general issues, and is available from the first Friday of each month. There are Sports Clubs, and numerous groups, for all ages, which meet in and near the village, covering everything from Judo to Keep fit.

There are also a number of businesses associated with the village. . . .we have an Holistic Therapist, and there are Builders, Painters and Decorators, a Roofer, a Car Repair Garage, Sport and Leisure Clubs, a Taxi Service, a Courier Service. . . . even a Timber Merchant . . . all run from the village or by some of the residents.
